Nike ShoeCase

17 Shoe Drops 54 Live Signals 1.5K Winners

Nike partnered with Gumband to power the ShoeCase — an interactive, retail experience that gave sneakerheads a chance to get coveted, limited-edition Nikes.

Located in the high-profile Washington Heights Foot Locker, the ShoeCase displayed high-heat sneakers in dynamic 360° rotation synced with video and custom lighting.

A digital UI prompted customers to scan their Nike app for a chance to purchase the exclusive pair in their selected size.

The ShoeCase issued a unique and collectable ticket letting users know if they would be adding a pair of Nikes to their collection.

Core Services

Health

The in-store team was notified of system issues in real time—whether the ShoeCase went offline or the ticket printer needed paper. When an issue surfaced, Gumband helped to bring the machine back online quickly with debugging logs and real-time hardware testing, minimizing exhibit downtime.

Analytics

Real-time data collection enabled a brand new level of understanding that pushes way past surveys or revenue. Once enough data had been captured, Nike could determine behavioral patterns related to case color, store placement and asset selection. ShoeCase also scanned codes generated in users’ Nike apps, which Nike combined with first-party data to measure app downloads attributed to the in-store exhibit.

Content

Nike remotely scheduled updates to video content, digital UI, physical ticket design, and even the machine’s LEDs. Gumband’s permissions enabled Nike to delegate basic controls to the Foot Locker team, while maintaining control of mission-critical details such as shoe prices, branding and messaging, and machine win rates.
